Satus Pass Reopens Without Pilot Car

Large Thunderstorm Cloud Taken From ICP @Goldendale, WA, Looking North.

Washington State Department of Transportation (WA-DOT) has announced the use of the pilot car along US Hwy 97 has been removed, from its use, as of last night (August 1st.) at 10:00 p.m. In addition, a reduced speed limit of 40 mph is in place between MM-24, near Timmon Lane and MM-36 between the two Sadus Crk Bridges. Public is being asked to drive cautiously between these mile markers along Hwy 97. Fire fighting vehicles will still have a presence and working along this stretch of the highway, in addition to WA-DOT crews.

Things are improving.  This was the huge, strange looking thunder cloud that hung over our head yesterday.  It was downright chilly last night.  Had to actually wear a sweatshirt for evening chores...on August 1?

Our containment now is at 75% again, that means that there is a 75% chance that the fire won't restart.
