Second case: Recently
the Columbia Poodle Club was also raided following a complaint from a
citizen. About 60 animals were impounded in various states of neglect;
some quite severe.. The owner had become overwhelmed due to
personal heath crises. Her husband had a catastrophic illness; the owner
herself had become very ill as well.
She was a long term MCAS partner.
She was not charged. One of the returned dogs was from MCAS. She had
re-signed the agreement ( the one attached) in 2011. Given the
circumstances it would have been indeed inhumane to prosecute her but
that was not why MCAS failed to act. It was inhumane in the first case
as well.
It was entirely about using the law for retaliatory purposes. How can crooks enforce the law?.
Officer
Janna Russell is no longer with MCAS. To the best of my knowldge she
left on her own accord. At the time she was and may still be a breeding
and show dog associate of John Rowton, MCAS shelter manager, and also
Michelle Luckey, his spouse, MCAS Legal Aide officer.
Officer Russell
used to be listed on their breeding site. I don't know if they have a
facility license ( or scrub daily with a bleaching solution; they sure
do bleach the facts). No one oversees MCAS investigations or OHS. ..
I hardly expect justice from these folks if they are the licensers fo rescues: just abuse of power.
